Keeping Ourselves Safe - Constable Carl

Constable Carl visited Room 2 Tuis on Monday. He talked to us about good touch - hugging, kissing, holding hands with people we know and trust like family and friends. He also talked about bad touch - touch that hurts like pushing, kicking and pinching. Then we talked about confusing touch - things that make us feel uncomfortable or confused. We then practiced saying "Stop it, I don't like it!" We talked about what we should do - walk away and tell an adult we trust.
Constable Carl is coming back on Friday. It was great having a police officer in Room 2!

Syndicate Assembly - 24th May 2013

Spencer and Gracie both received certificates at our syndicate assembly. The awards were for being respectful - part of our school vision and values. We sung songs and talked about being well-rounded - the fantail on our school vision and values.

Science Week - Bones Experiment

Later in the term we will be studying the skeletal system. As part of science week we started an experiment. We placed a chicken bone in a jar of vinegar. Have a look at our predictions below. Next week we will find out what happened to the bone.

Four days later, we opened the jar of vinegar. Have a look below....

Some Tui's didn't like the smell of the vinegar or the texture of the bone! This time we used white vinegar so we could see the chicken bone.
